The books I picked & why

Book cover of The Power of Now: A Guide to Spiritual Enlightenment

Barbara Wainwright Why did I love this book?

This book changed my life for the better.

I have read many books searching for answers to “why”.  Eckhart Tolle provides explanations, (cause and effect) methods (tools for personal and spiritual growth), and does it succinctly, in easy-to-understand terms.

If you are searching for wisdom so that you can better navigate life, relationships, longevity, abundance, and peace of mind and heart, you most likely will benefit from reading and applying the methods to enlightenment that he shares.

I successfully applied his teachings to my life and now find that I am very consistently in a peaceful state of mind and heart.

Book cover of The Road Less Traveled: A New Psychology of Love, Traditional Values and Spiritual Growth

Barbara Wainwright Why did I love this book?

Very early, when I was searching for answers to why my life seemed out of control, I read this very revealing book by M. Scott Peck.

He shares very relatable stories of how others navigated very difficult situations and the discoveries they made along the way.  One story that helped me to grow personally was about a passive/aggressive person.

Upon reading the story, I had to admit that I had also acted passive/aggressively in my relationship. Acknowledging that behavior and taking action to correct it, resulted in a divorce from a toxic situation. Applying the principles in this book will result in more truth and integrity in your everyday actions.

Now featuring a new introduction by Dr. M. Scott Peck, the twenty-fifth anniversary edition of the classic bestseller The Road Less Traveled, celebrated by The Washington Post as “not just a book but a spontaneous act of generosity.”

With sales of more than seven million copies in the United States and Canada, and translations into more than twenty-three languages, it has made publishing history, with more than ten years on the New York Times bestseller list.

Book cover of Frogs into Princes: Neuro Linguistic Programming

Barbara Wainwright Why did I love this book?

This book was recommended to me when I was first learning about the coaching industry. I found it to be a very interesting read.

Richard Bandler and John Grinder did in-depth studies and observations of very successful therapists; therapists that were able to effect immediate change (for the better) in their clients. In this book they share stories of transformation and walk you through some of those experiences. I found this book to be very informative.

NLP is an explicit and powerful model of human experience and communication. Using the principles of NLP it is possible to describe any human activity in a detailed way that allows you to make many deep and lasting changes quickly and easily. A few specific examples of things you can learn to accomplish are: (1) cure phobias and other unpleasant feeling responses in less than an hour, (2) help children and adults with "learning disabilities" (spelling and reading problems, etc.) overcome these limitations, often in less than an hour, (3) eliminate most unwanted habits - smoking, drinking, over-eating, insomnia, etc.,…

Book cover of The Nature of Personal Reality: A Seth Book

Barbara Wainwright Why did I love this book?

This book was the beginning of my spiritual journey.

Accepting that we are responsible for every aspect of our lives was a hard pill to swallow. Life happens for us, not to us. What is the purpose? The purpose (I believe) is to learn unconditional love and acceptance.

Does that mean we have to be around people that hurt us? No. It means to accept people for who they are and move on.

This book challenged me and my way of thinking. “Your thoughts create your reality” is explained in detail in this book. I’m grateful that this book was written.

By Jane Roberts,

What is this book about?

Late in 1963, Jane Roberts and her husband were experimenting with a Ouija board when a personality calling himself 'Seth' began forming messages. Soon, Miss Roberts began passing easily into trance - her gestures, her eyes, her voice 'borrowed' by Seth himself. Now for those who want to put his theories to use, Seth has dictated this new book, The Nature of Personal Reality explains how unquestioned belief structure your experience - and how simply listing them can help remove barriers you have uknowingly thrown in your way. Along with other specific exercises for transforming your personal reality, Seth spells…
